Is it just me or do the frozen boxed alfredo noodles smell like barf 😷 Archer had frozen alfredo for the first time yesterday, said it was good, and wanted more today. I, of course, didn’t have anymore frozen barf-fredo so I figured why not learn how to make it.
I came across a simple 4 ingredient alfredo recipe, but I had to tweak it due to the ingredients I had in the fridge; turned out fantastic. So I will share it with you so you don’t have to bare the smell of the frozen barf-fredo anymore 🙌.
4 Ingredient Super Simple Alfredo Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 bulb garlic, minced
- 2 cups whipping cream (or heavy cream)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 – 3/4 bag Pizza blend- 4 cheese mix
- noodles, cooked taste
Instructions
- In a large sauce pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Make sure the butter does not brown
- Add in the minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute to soften the garlic and bring out its aroma
- Slowly pour in the cream into the garlic butter mixture. Add salt and pepper to taste
- Bring the cream mixture to a boil, then turn the heat down to a simmer for 3-5 minutes, uncovered. Make sure to stir the mixture often with a wooden spoon to prevent any burns and to thinken the mixture.
- The sauce is thick and good to go once it coats the back of the wooden spoon
- Take the pan off the heat. Slowly add in the cheese and stir each time. You can make it thicker by adding more cheese or if you like it runny add less
- Your sauce is now ready. You can serve with pasta and/or meat. Enjoy
Notes
- Traditionally, Alfredo is made with parmesan cheese; we didn’t have any. Instead we used a pizza blend cheese because we had it left over from pizza night.Â
- When you do purchase the Parmesan cheese, purchase it shredded or you can grate your ownÂ
- We ended up tossing some ground turnkey in ours as well to give it more protein. Feel free to add any meats, seafood, or even just eat it plain with fettuccine pastaÂ
