In a large sauce pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Make sure the butter does not brown
Add in the minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute to soften the garlic and bring out its aroma
Slowly pour in the cream into the garlic butter mixture. Add salt and pepper to taste
Bring the cream mixture to a boil, then turn the heat down to a simmer for 3-5 minutes, uncovered. Make sure to stir the mixture often with a wooden spoon to prevent any burns and to thinken the mixture.
The sauce is thick and good to go once it coats the back of the wooden spoon
Take the pan off the heat. Slowly add in the cheese and stir each time. You can make it thicker by adding more cheese or if you like it runny add less
Your sauce is now ready. You can serve with pasta and/or meat. Enjoy
